HIGI- The Gift of a Listening Ear

This Thursday Dec 23rd, Chuck Gallozzi will be our guest speaker with a speech entitled “The Gift of a Listening Ear”. He will talk about the importance and value of Active Listening.

Chuck is a professional speaker, seminar leader, and coach. Corporations, church groups, teachers, counselors, and caregivers use his more than 400 articles as a resource to help others. Among his diverse accomplishments, he is also the Canadian National Champion of a Toastmasters International Humorous Speech Contest, and the Founder and Head of the Positive Thinkers Group. He was interviewed on CBC’s “Steven and Chris Show,” appearing nationally on Canadian TV.

HIGI- Four Forms of Interpersonal Relationships

Fraser Rose will be our speaker for this week HIGI. He‘ll be speaking about the four forms of interpersonal relationships:

1 – win-lose;

2 – win-win;

3 – lose-win;

4 – lose-lose.

 

His purpose will be to leave each person with a crystal clear idea of what each is, and the challenge to make all of their interpersonal relations a win-win whenever possible.

Fraser Rose is career educator and counselling specialist who has served many years as a principal in Ontario schools, both public and private, both elementary and secondary.  During the time he was supervising principal of schools on the Canadian Forces Base in Trenton, he was elected to four terms of office as a trustee on The Hastings County Board of Education, and served as Chairman of that Board for two terms.  For the past 20 years, he has been a high school principal in Toronto.

HIGI- Bridging the Language Gap

At this week HIGI, Sandy Robb will give a speech entitled “Bridging the Language Gap

Do you ever wish we all spoke the same language? Wouldn’t life be easier if we could always understand each other?

Sandy Robb is a Toastmaster, a story teller and a wannabe writer. She will use her story telling experience to guide us through some challenges she has encountered with language in areas you may not previously have thought of as a language gap.

After her speech she invites you to share your experiences in finding common ground.

HIGI- Inspiration to Tell Your Story

At this week HIGI, Joe Milakovic, also known as “Hollywood Joe”, will give a speech entitled “Inspiration to Tell Your Story”. He will be sharing some personal stories and teaching you how to Tell Your Story.

 

Joe is an international inspirational speaker and active Toastmaster. Passionate about speaking and zooming through U.S and Canada giving over 80 speeches in 90 days, an ultra-marathon trail runner.

HIGI- Improving mental well-being

Our HIGI speaker this Thursday, is one our student volunteer. She is studying Social Psychology at McMaster University.

We have been sharing our knowledge and thoughts about well-being and the way it is measured. You will hear about examples of well-being interventions and factors that regulate their effectiveness.
